How will a massage gel benefit my skin ?
Massaging is a great therapy for your skin; no matter the type or condition of the skin. It de-congests the skin and betters the blood and lymph flow. This helps cleanse out toxins from deep-within the skin; as well as allows better transportation of nutrients to the cells. Thus the activity of massaging is itself nourishing. A gel application adds to this, its own soothing and cooling effect; without making the skin too oily. And if the ingredients of the gel are right, it makes the gel massage extra-nourishing and thus extra beneficial to the skin.
How does Lavender Oil prevent pre-mature aging ?
Lavender Oil is derived from the spikes of Lavandula officnalis flower. It has a rich anti-oxidant content. As such, it keeps our skin from wrinkling and sagging by its double action. Elastin and Collagen, the two elements responsible for the elasticity and firmness of our skin, are firstly protected from the damaging UV rays of the sun. Secondly their production is boosted too. This oil has the ability to penetrate deep into the skin’s layers and decongest the blood and lymph flow. A better circulation betters the health of the skin cells. Furthermore, its anti-bacterial activity helps keep the skin free of acne and other infections.
What is Rosemary Oil and how does it benefit the skin ?
Rosemary oil is extracted from Rosemary (Rosemarinus officinalis) plant, of the mint family. Its topical application is a proven skin rejuvenator. It effectively promotes skin cell regeneration. This helps keep wrinkles at bay and fastens healing of scars and wounds. It is a known anti-microbial agent; and thus proves effective against various skin infections, including acne. Anti-inflammatory in nature it even helps soothe the skin. Rosemary oil effectively detoxifies skin cells, by stimulating the blood flow and flushing out toxins; which reduces puffiness and grants health to skin cells.
What properties of Mulethi make it an effective anti wrinkle agent ?
Mulethi is more commonly known as licorice; and is the root of Glycyrrhiza glabra. It is extremely popular because of its anti-oxidant properties; which is attributed to the presence of galbrene in it. Scavenging harmful free radicals of the skin, galbrene, together with the sunscreen properties of licorice, control skin-aging. Galbrene also grants it anti-inflammatory properties. Licorice also contains a molecule named licochalcone, which works wonders for acne-prone skin; by controlling sebum/oil production and killing bacteria. Another active ingredient in licorice is galbridin. It is a mild and non-toxic bleaching agent; and thus helps in skin lighting and brightening, as well as fighting hyper-pigmentation; without the risk of permanent discoloration.
Why has Jojoba Oil been added to this complex ?
Jojoba (pronounced ho-ho-bah) oil isn’t oil at all; rather it is a liquid wax, which is produced in the jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) plant’s seed. This compound bears a very close resemblance to the human sebum (natural oil). Thus, it fools the skin into producing less sebum; not being oily itself. This is especially beneficial for oily and/or acne-prone skin. It is non-comedogenic, i.e. it does not block pores; rather its anti-bacterial property helps clear polluted pores and maintain the skin’s natural pH level. Jojoba oil I known to reduces water loss, while allowing the skin to breathe and is also rich in anti-oxidants. Thus, it improves the skin’s elasticity and suppleness; and minimizes fine lines and wrinkles.
What kind of massaging benefits does Marigold Oil provide to the skin ?
Pot marigold, or Calendula officinalis, is the source of marigold oil. It is a natural moisturizer for dry and/or chapped skin. Its antioxidant content, of polyphenols and carotenes, helps delay premature aging; stimulates wound healing; and prevents formation of scars. The presence of triterpenes grants this non-toxic oil anti-inflammatory property; which further soothes any irritated area of the skin. The presence of tannins further renders this oil astringent like properties. This combined with anti-bacterial and anti-septic properties, makes the oils beneficial for ridding the face of impurities. This even helps fight minor skin problems, including acne.
